About Me

I have been at BYU-Idaho (formerly Ricks College) since 1981. I served a 2-year mission to the Northern States Mission (1969 - 1971). I received a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy from BYU-Provo in 1975 and a Master's degree in Agronomy from Kansas State University in 1978.

Prior to coming to Ricks, I worked for the Washington State Extension Service and Frito-Lay, Inc.  My wife Mala have been married since 1973 and have 8 children, 7 boys and 1 girl. Two the boys are adoptees from the Republic of Kazakhstan.

I have taught introductory computer classes at BYU-Idaho (formerly Ricks College) since 1981. I have also taught Introductory Accounting, and Business English, and Home Gardening. I have served as Department Chairman of Animal Science and Ag Business and as dean of the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.

I enjoy agriculture, gardening, traveling, skeet shooting, fireworks, genealogy, religion, teaching, history,  hiking, camping, and scouting (not necessarily in that order).

I have traveled to Egypt; Israel; Kazakhstan; Moscow, Russia; Mexico; and several places in the United States.
