"In a day not far from now, we will be able to break down the barriers of time and space... And create outstanding, interactive educational experiences. In these experiences students will teach one another in new and powerful ways."

The Academic Development Team’s mission is to extend the blessings of higher education to as many members as possible through great online courses as well as through evening classes.

The foundation of our group is our Continuing Education team, which has provided innovative higher education opportunities to community members for many years.  In the last couple of years we have built on this foundation in dramatic new ways.  Our curriculum developers collaborate with faculty at BYU-Idaho to crank out high quality curriculum—online, hybrid, and face-to-face—like there’s no tomorrow.  Others on our team oversee the delivery of our online courses, doing everything we can to improve the quality of the online learning experience for our students.  We also oversee the hiring, training, and teaching of an army of dedicated online adjunct instructors from around the country.

And even as we develop the capacity to deliver 20% of the credits BYU-Idaho students take within the next few years, we’re exploring exciting new ways to share these resources with members around the world.  The Pathway Program combines the online resources of BYU-Idaho with the loving support of Church service missionary couples in local institutes to help students obtain a higher education who might not otherwise be able to obtain a college degree from a Church school.
