The Hyrum Smith Box

Upon receiving the plates from Moroni on September 22, Joseph Smith hid them in a some three miles from the Smith home.   Later, Joseph retrieved the plates from the log and brought them to the Smith home.  Joseph had asked Hyrum to bring a box with t lock so that he might place the plates in it for protection.   The following are pictures of the actual box in which the plates had been hid.

The box is 14" by 16"
