John
Wycliffe (c. 1330-1384)
- Though he lived two hundred years before
the Reformation, his beliefs and teachings closely match those of
Luther, Calvin and other Reformers
- Disagreed with transubstantiation
- Translated the Bible into English
- The Church expelled Wycliffe
from his teaching position at Oxford.
- 44 years after he died, the
Pope ordered his bones exhumed and burned.

- All who believe in Christ can be saved.
- Atonement is universal, making it
possible for all to be saved.
- Man cannot be saved without the grace of
