Academic Honesty Policy: Please visit the BYU-Idaho website for the Academic Honesty Policy at www.byui.edu/deanofstudents/academichonesty.htm.
Jobs: From time to time we have openings for tutors, lab assistants, and paper graders. Visit with me or one of the other faculty members if you are interested.
Student Advising: I recommend that you visit with your assigned advisor to discuss questions you have about your major or career. BUT, if you cannot meet with your advisor, or have questions of a general nature (school policies, academic deadlines, general education requirements, etc.) you may wish to visit the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering Advising Office instead. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Go to room 106C in the Austin building, or call 496-3043.
Study Skills: If you are having academic trouble, perhaps the Study Skills Center can help. It offers help in concentration and memorization, time management, note taking, text book study, thinking skills (problem solving), test taking skills, and studying chemistry. Students can also earn credit while learning. In addition it provides individual study skill counseling, computer driven learning style inventories, and a program to up-grade keyboarding skills. It is located in McKay 266.
Student Disability Statement: In compliance with applicable disability law, qualified students with a disability may be entitled to “reasonable accommodation.” It is the student’s responsibility to disclose to the teacher any special need she/he may have before the end of the first week of class. Information about available services can be found in the Learning Assistance Lab (Room 272 in McKay Library).
Student Sexual Harassment Statement: Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits sex discrimination against any participant in an educational program or activity that receives federal funds, including Federal loans and grants. Title IX also covers student-to-student sexual harassment. If you encounter unlawful sexual harassment or gender-based discrimination, please contact the Personnel Office at 496-1130.
Your Safety & Security: Go to The Safety and Security Site for information on how to be safe and secure. Also see Especially For College Students for safety and security issues particular to students.
