Having been thrown into the Elementary Education advising ring, I am
mediocre at best in my knowledge, but I do have the resources to succeed.
The new El. Ed. Advising Center is just downstairs from my office; I
consistently walk students down to the center for help. Sister
Messer made the comment in a required meeting for majors last week that
they should only go to their advisors with specific questions; otherwise,
they should use the center. So I am smart enough to know to use the
Elementary Education provides advisors with a
packet and worksheet that is easy to use and follow, so it is quite easy
to be effective. I have taken several questions to Sister Messer;
she knows that I am functioning well and feels good about my contribution.
