Jack Harrell has taught writing and literature at BYU-I since 1995. He holds an M.A. in English from Illinois State University, and a PhD in Education from the University of Idaho. He is a convert to the Church and a native of southeastern Illinois. His background in the Midwest has shaped his appreciation for the literature of rural America, especially the fiction of Flannery O'Connor.
