Hort 103 Home Gardening
Purpose: Learn basic principles, culture and production of vegetables, fruits, flowers, trees, shrubs, and turf, as it relates to home garden and self-reliance.
Objectives: This is a beginning course of practical, down to earth gardening. Participants will gain a broad knowledge base including: garden planning, production, pruning, maintenance, harvesting, storage, variety selection, cultural practices, composing, small space gardening, integrated pest management and the efficient use of natural resources. It is designed for majors other than horticulture and will consider the psychological benefits of plants/ nature.
