Hort 230 Introduction to Landscape Architecture
Purpose: Although many visualize the landscape as a place, it is best understood as a process. Landscape design thus becomes a tool for managing this process of change to create meaningful and compelling places.
Objectives: To introduce the student to steps in the landscape design process that will enable them to design residential landscapes that are functional, artistic, and beautiful. To learn elements and principles of art that apply to landscape architecture. To provide an exploratory class for individuals who might choose to elect ornamental horticulture as a career path.
