| Course Description: | This course covers basic network operating system principals and Linux commands. | ||||||||
| Course Objectives: | At the conclusion of this course the students should understand how to install, configure, and maintain the Linux operating systems and general operating system concepts. | ||||||||
| Course Requirements: | Attend class and participate in
discussions. Read the assigned chapters. Complete assigned homework. Complete exams on schedule. |

| Attendance Requirement: | You are expected to attend each class. You will be responsible for the information covered in every class, whether you are present or not. | ||||||||
| Course Policies: | All exams must be taken on the
scheduled day.
The homework assignments must be completed by the due date to receive full credit. After the due date they will lose 10% per day they are late.. During class time, you are expected to use only the application we are studying. You may be asked to leave class if you are using any other application. You may not use a lab if a class is in session. BYU - Idaho standards are outlined in the student handbook. Students are expected to abide by the college honor code. No cheating will be tolerated. The dress code will be enforced in class and in the labs. |

Code. Students are to access only data and files that are owned by
them, or for which explicit authorization has been given by the
instructor for their use. Copyrighted material must be used in
accordance with copyright law and applicable license agreements
followed.
Attempting to circumvent or subvert system security measures or engaging in any activity that causes harm to systems or to any information stored thereon, such as creating or propagating viruses, disrupting services, or damaging files are considered inappropriate use. Violators are subject to disciplinary actions as prescribed by BYU - Idaho Policy and may also be prosecuted under applicable local, state, or federal civil or criminal law. NOTE: A more detailed listing of Appropriate Use Guidelines will be posted in poster form in each of the computer labs. Follow the guidelines on these posters. No food or drink are allowed in the labs. |
