Course Content: This course provides the student with a basic knowledge of the disease process on both structural and functional parts of the human body. It details the changes that are seen and the signs and symptoms of the disease's progression.  It describes many of the most current diagnostic and treatment methods for these. 

The course is divided into two main areas of study. The first section deals with the general concepts of how disease affects the total body. The second section considers the various affects of the disease processes on the organs and body systems.

Textbook: Online Lessons and the students independent use of the internet to gain knowledge and answers questions.  Many questions will be answered by the use of the internet.

Unit Exam I -      50 points  12.5%

Unit Exam II -     50 points  12.5%

Unit Exam III-    50 points   12.5%

Unit Exam IV-    50 points   12.5% 

Presentation and paper - 50 points 12.5%

Class Attendance - 50 points - 12.5%

Final Exam -   100 points - 25% of your grade

Grading scale:

A = above 93% C = 73.5 - 77.4%

A- = 90-92.9% C- = 70 - 73.4%

B+ = 87.5 - 89.9% D+ = 67.5 - 69.9%

B = 82.5 - 87.4% D = 62.5 - 67.4%

B- 80 - 82.4% D- = 60 - 62.4%

C+ = 77.5 - 79.9% F = below 60%
